| Description : |
a small erect herb, growing up to 5-10 cm tall. Slender stems are square in cross-section, branched at the top. Oppositely arranged stalkless leaves are ovate, thick, 3-nerved, 6-8 mm long. Flowers arise in clusters at the end of branches. Stalk of the flower cluster is 1-5 cm long. Sepals are 4, not winged. Flowers are bluish purple, 6-10 mm across, with 4 broadly ovate-lanceshaped petals, purple at the base. Anthers are yellow. Capsules are 3 mm, round. Flowering: September. |
