| Description : | a perennial herb, 30-50 cm tall. Stems are branched, unlike the closely similar Indian Grass Lily. Leaves are linear-lanceshaped. Flowers are dark brownish-purple, carried on long stalks. A distinguishing feature of this species is that stamen filaments are hairless. Capsules are ellipsoid-oblong, many seeded.
