Plant Common Name : Magnificent Grass Lily
 
Synonym : -

Description : a perennial herb, 30-50 cm tall. Stems are branched, unlike the closely similar Indian Grass Lily. Leaves are linear-lanceshaped. Flowers are dark brownish-purple, carried on long stalks. A distinguishing feature of this species is that stamen filaments are hairless. Capsules are ellipsoid-oblong, many seeded. Magnificent Grass Lily is endemic to Maharashtra and Karnataka
 
Curated Medicinal Use / Activity : Oil extracted from bulbs is uniquely used against Migraine and Snake bite by Korku tribe but elsewhere it is used for other health elements by few researchers
